MBA Renewables fosters networking and discussion at its first Alumni Conference “Integration of Renewable Power Generation”

Professionals from 17 different countries are gathering in Berlin (Germany) for the first MBA Renewables Alumni Conference “Integration of Renewable Power Generation” from 21 – 25 June 2017. The conference is presenting perspectives and challenges of the ongoing Energiewende (Germany’s energy transition), a topic which is raising interest all over the world. Additionally, the event serves as a unique platform for exchange amongst the experts who have studied the MBA Renewables. MBA Renewables, offered by the Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin and Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) since 2011, is the first distance learning Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency to combat climate change.

Indian Members of Parliament on information tour in Berlin to learn about Germany’s Energiewende and Climate Policy

From the 7th to the 10th of November, seven Indian Members of Parliament (MPs) participated in an information visit in and around Berlin to learn from Germany’s experiences with energy transition (Energiewende) and climate protection policies. As India plans to implement its own sustainable low-carbon initiatives, the parliamentarians have been keen to get impulses from Germany on how to support the market development of renewable energy and energy efficiency. Commissioned by the German Federal Foreign Office, the Renewables Academy (RENAC) in cooperation with the international parliamentary network Climate Parliament compiled a programme, which presented Germany’s energy and climate policies from the legislative and the executive perspectives. The trip included visits to four federal ministries and a regulator, as well as meetings with representatives from private industry, the finance sector, think-tanks and civil society.

CapREG: Three years promoting renewable energy in Southeast Asia and Latin America through capacity building

Last week in Vietnam the Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) ran the seminar “Bankability of Renewable Energy Projects”. This was the last in a successful series of face-to-face seminars which were held as part of the capacity building programme CapREG - Capacity Development on Renewable Energy and Grid Integration. RENAC is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) within the framework of the German International Climate Initiative (IKI) to implement this three-year scholarship programme in the partner countries Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Peru and Ecuador.

The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC)’s mobile exhibition explains grid integration of renewables

The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC)’s mobile exhibition “Grid Integration of Renewables”was presented at the “2nd Thai-German Community-based Renewable Energy Conference 2016” in Bangkok (Thailand) which was organised jointly by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Thai Ministry of Energy (MoEN). The exhibition explains the highly complex issue of grid integration of large amounts of wind and solar photovoltaics into the electricity grid in a simple way. The exhibition was highly welcomed by the 150 conference participants. After the event, the mobile exhibition will be showcased for several weeks in the facilities of the MoEN.
