EurObserv’ER
Supported by Intelligent Energy Europe and ADEME the EurObserv'ER team has been reporting since 1998 on the progress made by renewable energies in each member state of the European Union. Every other month a so-called barometer is published, monitoring and analyzing the development of one renewable energy sector (wind power, photovoltaics, solar thermal, geothermal, small hydro, biogas, bio fuels, solid biomass, geothermal, and ground source heat pumps). EurObserv'ER produces a series of figure-backed indicators covering energetic, technological and economic dimensions in an as up-to-date way as possible and evaluates this progression in comparison to the EU 2020 energy targets. Targeting policy makers, industrialists, investors, the media and the general public, EurObserv’ER through its descriptive reports provides a comprehensive picture of the diffusion processes of renewable energies in the EU. Through an extensive partner network and a close co-operation with national experts, the provided data (with figures less than 12 months old) are often more up-to-date than data of the various statistical agencies. The “Barometers” indicate realized projects and provide a political background as well as dedicated technology and country-specific information. Moreover, once a year an Overview Barometer gathers the main indicators published during the year and completes them with additional sector information. Newly developed indicators measure socio-economic impacts in the European RES sector in terms of generated employment and industrial turnover.
