The objective of seminars for GTZ staff was to enable the participants to identify and develop options for implementing renewable energy strategies in developing countries. Participants were equipped with knowledge to be able to assess the possibilities for various renewable energy technologies and gain an overview of conditions, environment, funding opportunities and necessary skills needed for planning, operation and maintenance. The seminar covered various topics - an overview of selected renewable energy technologies, their advantages and disadvantages, applications, competitiveness, political conditions and funding opportunities as well as specific topics and applications for developing countries.
