Practical Photovoltaics (Grid-tied and Off-grid)
Through the PV Equipment in our Training Center you obtain hands-on practice in the full process of implementing a PV system – from planning, installation, maintenance, quality management, through to monitoring and remote control of the systems.
A variety of different module types are used for measurement and testing exercises. The following exercises are available:
- PV module configuration and installation / mounting structures
- Electrical characteristics of modules
- Effect of angles, orientation, shade and temperature on PV module performance
- Generating sun-path diagrams and shade analysis
- Recording characteristic efficiency curves of grid-tied inverters
- IKS experiment/demonstration kit exercises
- Mounting PV modules on a mock roof (surface area around 10 m², grid-tied)
- Installation and wiring of grid-tied inverters and systems
- System commissioning, testing, performance and monitoring
- PV off-grid system assembly and installation
- Fault-finding and trouble-shooting
