Introduction to Renewable Energy Technologies – GESS I
City:
Berlin
Location:
Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG , Schönhauser Alle 10-11 , 10119 Berlin
Description:

The use of renewable energy has been captivating the world in the last decade as seen by a steady rise in its interest in both the developed and developing countries. Usage of any of these technologies depends absolutely on the availability of the renewable energy resource to be harnessed. This course takes you through the different existing RE resources and then focuses on the commercially viable existing renewable energy technologies while appraising their suitability for different situations and different parts of the world and culminating with an introduction to how the electricity sources can be integrated into the grid.

Introduction to Energy Efficiency in Industry and Buildings – GESS IIb
City:
Berlin
Location:
Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG , Schönhauser Alle 10-11 , 10119 Berlin
Description:

The most economical and climate-friendly kilowatt hour is the kilowatt hour that we do not consume. Thus, an efficient utilisation of energy should be in the focus of every energy system among others in buildings and industry. This course provides you with a comprehensive but concise overview on how energy efficiency in buildings and industrial processes can be enhanced.

Introduction to Grid Integration of Variable Renewable Energy – GESS IIIb
City:
Berlin
Location:
Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG , Schönhauser Alle 10-11 , 10119 Berlin
Description:

The markets for grid-connected variable renewable energies (photovoltaics (PV) and wind power) are growing and the share of electricity generation from PV and wind is steadily increasing worldwide. Integration of variable renewable energies in distribution and transmission grids is becoming increasingly important. Today, tools and methods are available to enable secure and reliable operation of an energy supply system and its sustainable planning with large share of wind power and photovoltaics. For example, PV and wind power can contribute to frequency and voltage regulation, their power output can be forecasted with a high accuracy, dimensioning of balancing power can take weather dependency into account and the amount of firm PV and wind capacity during times of peak load can be calculated precisely.

This course looks at important tools and methods for grid integration. It is therefore a must for all those who want to prepare for current and future tasks especially those who want to become or remain leading experts in the energy sector.

PV Off-Grid Systems - from Stand-Alone to Hybrid Mini-Grids – GESS IIIa
City:
Berlin
Location:
Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG , Schönhauser Alle 10-11 , 10119 Berlin
Description:

The current trend in rural electrification using solar PV systems moves in two major directions: Small systems using innovative ownership and financing models (e.g. PAYGO) and larger mini-grids where conventional power sources (e.g. Diesel generators) are being hybridized with or fully exchanged by solar PV systems combined with large Li-Ion storage systems. In your training at RENAC you will focus on the technological aspects of both developments. This will enable you to talk at eye level to consultants, experts and solution providers. Going beyond technological aspects, we will facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences on key success factors for rural electrification. Hands-on exercises and working with real-life equipment in our training center will enrich your learning experience and is always named one of the highlights of a training at RENAC by our participants.
