Brief description

The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) is a higher federal scientific authority, which contributes to an environmentally compatible development of renewable energies by means of research activities, the evaluation and preparation of research findings, policy consulting and the drawing up of recommendations for action. As the nature conservation agency responsible for the Exclusive Economic Zone in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, the BfN is also active in the authorisation procedures for offshore wind power projects and their cable connection.
