Brief description

The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) is responsible for agricultural and nutritional policies. It has created framework conditions for the development of renewable energies and supported innovation by drawing up legislation and regulations, releasing funds, and through the exchange of knowledge with research groups, associations and other institutions. The Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum (DBFZ) was established by the Federal Government as a central research institution for all relevant fields of research associated with bioenergy.
