Brief description

The mission of the Deutsches Biomasse Forschungszentrum (DBFZ - German Biomass Research Centre), founded in 2008, is to develop technical solutions and devise wide-ranging concepts for the economically, ecologically and socially sustainable use of biomass as an energy source, based on applied leading- edge research. The DBFZ seeks to actively shape knowledge in relation to the possibilities and prospects for the use of biomass as an energy source in general terms. It also aims to safeguard the leading position enjoyed by Germany in the sector for the long-term.
