Brief description

The Max-Planck-Gesellschaft conducts basic research in fields including energy conversion, generation, storage and efficiency. It is aiming to develop a new source of energy through research into nuclear fusion. Researchers at the MPG are also developing new materials, in particular catalysts for energy conversion, e.g. in fuel cells or batteries, for the storage of energy, such as in chemical form, for more efficient use of fossil fuels as well as the opening-up of new sources of energy, such as waste wood and straw.
