GIZ
Capacity Needs Assessment, Communication Services, Customized Courses, Curriculum and Training Design, Short-term Experts, Study & Delegation Tours, Train-the-Trainer
Government officials from both energy and non-energy sectors in six partner states: Assam, Goa, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Punjab.
The project starts with a detailed review and update of existing Training Needs Assessments and conducts fresh assessments in all six partner states to identify current skills gaps and priorities for renewable energy and energy efficiency. Building on these findings, RENAC and partners design ten gender-responsive training modules, prepare tailored training materials and tools, and work with selected Indian research and training institutions to establish and strengthen local trainer pools. Over the project duration, the team implements Training of Trainers programmes and delivers a series of in-person capacity-building sessions for government officials across the six states, using interactive formats, case studies and, where possible, field visits to ensure practical learning and peer exchange.

BSW
Curriculum and Training Design
Professionals active in the technical field of solar photovoltaics. Policy makers and managers can also participate if they have basic knowledge of solar PV.
Project activities included the implementation of a turn-key training center at EARTH University, equipping it with selected technologies and components for training purposes, plus the development of guidelines/manuals for use as well as exercises/experiments. RENAC developed the concepto for three Train-the-Trainer Seminars, five further education seminars on various renewable technologies in Costa Rica, a four-month lecture series on academic agriculture engineering between 2011 and 2013. Additionally, a market study on capacity building in Costa Rica was executed.

Solar Technology AD
Curriculum and Training Design
Advance PV Design: Graduates with prior PV training or professionals already familiar with PV systems who seek to deepen their expertise in advanced simulation, system optimization, and design under specific climatic conditions. O&M: Engineers, technicians, and project managers responsible for the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PV plants, focusing on ensuring long-term performance and reliability. BESS: Professionals involved in PV project development, system integration, or energy management who need knowledge of designing, sizing, and operating battery storage solutions alongside PV systems.
RENAC’s role in the project was to prepare and conduct the in-person trainings in Sofia for SolarPro. The focus of the specific trainings was to conduct advanced PV system simulations with PVsyst, perform shading analysis and loss assessment using 3D modeling and apply performance monitoring tools for PV systems. Additionally, the participants were trained in carrying out preventive and corrective O&M practices and interpreting and evaluating real O&M data. Finally, they also gained knowledge in the design and sizing of battery energy storage systems (BESS), simulating integration of BESS with PV systems for energy management and grid stability.
