Introduction to Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is one of the most cost-effective and impactful ways to reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and save money—for individuals, businesses, and societies alike. As the world faces growing energy demands and the urgent need to transition to sustainable systems, energy efficiency has emerged as a cornerstone of global climate action and economic resilience.

This virtual classroom provides a comprehensive introduction to energy efficiency, covering its fundamental concepts, benefits, and practical applications. Participants will explore how energy efficiency works, why it matters, and how it can be implemented across various sectors, from buildings and industry to transportation and policy. The session will also highlight key trends, global investment opportunities, and the standards that support energy efficiency practices, such as energy management systems, audits, and performance indicators.

Participants are expected to participate in the session by asking question and react to prompts from the speaker. When possible: cameras ON, mics off.
The session is delivered synchronously online, with later access to the recording and slides shared during the class. A digital certificate of participation will be issued within 48 hours after the class and sent by email.
