Green Banking offers a range of activities for its partner country Jordan. The activities include a Train-the-Trainer seminar at RENAC’s Training Centre in Berlin as well as an Online Training and Face-to-Face Seminars.

Train-the-Trainer (TtT) seminar at RENAC's Training Centre in Berlin

The Green Banking Train-the-Trainer seminar is suited for professionals with experience in green energy finance. The seminar offers in-depth training on technical, financial and didactical topics. Trainers will be able to contribute to the Applying Green Energy Finance Programme in their country or region. Throughout the lifetime of the Green Banking MENA project, one Train-the-Trainer seminar will be realised with up to 12 scholarships for participants from all four partner countries.

Details

The Train-the-Trainer seminar is directed to professionals with experiences in Green Energy and Climate Finance that wish to enhance their technical, financial and didactical skills in order to become a trainer in this field. The objective of the Train-the-Trainer seminar is to produce highly qualified trainers who can undertake courses autonomously.
The 5-days Train-the-Trainer seminar will consist of workshops and exercises at RENAC's training centre and a field trip to outstanding RE and EE projects. Participants will be equipped with hard facts and soft skills to develop their individual training abilities.

How to register:

Interested participants have to apply online and accept the terms of reference for the scholarship. RENAC will choose participants according to the information provided in the application form, e.g. ensure that the participants are part of the target group. Participants accepted for a training will receive a confirmation email from RENAC at the latest six weeks after the end of the application phase.

Please note that a very good command of English is a prerequisite for the participation in the TtT seminar, which will be held in English language.




Applying Green Energy Finance (AGEF) programme: Combination of Kick-off workshop, Online Training and Face-to-face seminar

The Green Banking Applying Green Energy Finance Programme is a combination of a Kick-off Workshop in the respective partner country, followed by an Online Training (OT) and a Face-to-Face Seminar in the respective partner country. The Kick-off Workshop introduces to the concept on online learning prior to the Online Training. The Face-to-Face Seminar is complementary to the Online Training and is a country-specific, in-depth training on technical and financial topics related to finance of RE and EE projects. The three-day seminar also offers an introduction of an Excel tool for project assessment and financial structuring. Throughout the project lifetime of Green Banking MENA, one Applying Green Energy Finance Programme per country including Kick-off Workshop, Online Training and Face-to-Face seminar will be realised with up to 15 scholarships for participants from each country. Additionally, there are 10 scholarships offered for participants from each country only for the Kick-off Workshop and the Online training. Details can be found below under Online Training.

Online Training (OT) "Fundamentals of RE/EE Finance"

The Green Banking online training will be offered in 2019 and is preceded by a kick-off workshop in the respective partner country. The Kick-off workshop introduces the concept of online learning and the subsequent Online Training is tailored to deliver a comprehensive, general introduction into green finance topics.

  • The Online Training is designed to offer insight information into Green Energy and Climate Finance. It also offers basics on financial evaluation and support mechanisms as selectable courses for those participants who are not familiar with these topics. These contents are complemented with political and market frameworks and case studies from the target countries of the Green Banking MENA project. For Jordan the focus of the online training is on renewable energy and energy efficiency finance.
  • Throughout the project lifetime of Green Banking, one Online Training will be realised with up to 10 scholarships for participants from Jordan.

The Online Training is specifically targeted at:

  • Credit Analysts
  • Project Finance Specialists
  • Client Relationship Managers

The Online Training is designed to offer insight information into Green Energy and Climate Finance. It also offers basics on financing methods and support mechanisms as selectable courses for those participants who are not familiar with these topics.

  • Each Online Training lasts 12 weeks; participants need app. 5 to 10 hours study time per week to work through the material (reading, watching online lectures, self-evaluation, participation in the forum)
  • The participation in the kick-off workshop in Amman, Jordan is free of charge and includes training material (color printed hard copies) and catering for the day.
  • The participation in the online courses is free of charge and includes access to text and videos, questions for self-study, virtual classrooms, forum
  • Participants can print out a personalised copy of the course materials in the form of PDF documents for personal use
  • Course materials are provided in English 
  • Lecturers in the virtual classrooms present in English
  • At the end of the training, participants receive a RENAC certificate of attendance if the training was successfully completed

RENAC staff and lecturers offer extensive support all along the learning process via email.

RENAC has many years of experience in distance learning via the internet. This training format has been increasing in popularity because it allows participants to decide when, where and how they prefer to learn.

The comprehensive Online Training programme ensures that the knowledge on fundamental aspects of Green Energy and Climate Finance is transferred to a broader audience in the partner countries.
