The Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG, based in Berlin, Germany, is one of the leading international providers of training programmes and capacity building services in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Since its foundation in 2008, RENAC has conducted renewable energy use and energy efficiency training events and programmes in Ukraine and in Berlin for participants from Ukraine. Since 2014, we have observed a growing democracy as well as different successful approaches towards the energy transition in the country.
As the world mobilises to assist people from Ukraine who are seeking safety and refuge during these times, we thought about how our team at RENAC could further support this effort. Some of our team members are currently volunteering at train stations, others donated money or have opened their homes to Ukrainians. At RENAC, we decided to use our core competence in furthering education in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency and offer course and programme scholarships.
