APPLICATION FOR THE GGF GREEN FINANCE EXPERT ONLINE TRAINING

We are pleased and proud to invite you to join the new GGF Green Finance Expert online course, brought to you by GGF Green Academy and the Renewables Academy (RENAC).
This innovative online program aims to enhance the technical expertise of loan officers, credit specialists, E&S managers, and other professionals involved in the operation of the GGF credit lines and interested in enhancing their knowledge around green finance topics. The program offers five different learning paths – described below – in order to effectively meet distinct training needs of program participants. The program can be completed over a period of 7 months and requires approximately 6 hours of time commitment per week for studying.
The application phase runs from 16 June 2025 to 17 August 2025. The online course will start on 15 September 2025 and will be completed by April 26, 2026. Up to 40 of the most active and successful participants will be invited to a four-day study tour in Berlin (preliminarily scheduled for April 2026), which will include interactive seminars and site visits to outstanding renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
The programme has available 5 Specializations that provide special focus in different areas. Each individual must choose 1 of the 5 Online Specialisations available.
The costs of the in-person seminar will be covered with the following conditions:
- Traveling costs to and from Berlin WILL NOT be covered or reimbursed. Participants should pay for their preferred travel arrangements.
- Individual accommodation for 4 nights for each participant, including breakfast at the hotel will be covered by GGF Green Academy.
- Beverages, snacks, coffee break and lunch will be provided during training days 2, 3 and 4.
- On the first day only, a welcome dinner will be provided.
- Transport to training venue and site visits will be provided, other transport used by participants will not be covered or reimbursed.
- No daily allowance (per-diem) will be provided. Personal costs and other travel-related costs than those listed above shall be paid by each participant.
- Only the costs related to each participant will be covered. Additional accompanying individuals shall be paid by and arranged by each individual
Please note that at least an intermediate knowledge of English is required to pass the program, as all materials, videos, lectures, as well as assignments and a final exam will be in English.
GGF Green Finance Expert – Energy Efficiency: focus on Buildings & Resource Efficiency
This specialization focuses on financing energy efficiency (EE) projects in buildings. As part of mandatory courses, participants will learn about the financial and technological aspects of EE projects and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), discuss specific applications and case studies, and address resource efficiency. Participants who want to complete the advanced version of this specialization must also take the courses " Digitalisation and smart technologies for the power sector " and " Environmental & Social Standards ".
Additionally, each participant has access to ten other optional courses, including, "Photovoltaics", "Climate Finance" or "E-Mobility" among several.

GGF Green Finance Expert – Energy Efficiency: focus on Industry & Resource Efficiency
This specialization focuses on financing energy efficiency (EE) projects in industry. As part of mandatory courses, participants will learn about the financial and technological aspects of EE projects and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), discuss specific applications and case studies, and address resource efficiency. Participants who want to complete the advanced version of this specialization must also take the courses " Digitalisation and smart technologies for the power sector " and " Environmental & Social Standards ".
Additionally, each participant has access to ten other optional courses, including, "Photovoltaics", "Climate Finance" or "E-Mobility" among several.

GGF Green Finance Expert – Renewable Energy: focus on solar PV technology
In this specialization, participants learn about financing renewable energy (RE) projects focusing on solar photovoltaic (PV) technology. As part of the mandatory courses, participants will learn about the financial and technological aspects of RE measures and RE project finance, discuss specific applications of PV technology and case studies, and address environmental and social (E&S) standards.
Participants who want to complete the advanced version of this specialization must also take the courses "Climate Finance" and "E-Mobility". These courses are accessible to all participants of the program.
Additionally, each participant has access to over ten other optional courses, including, "Wind energy", "Biogas" or "Resource efficiency finance".
GGF Green Finance Expert – Renewable Energy: focus on wind technology
In this specialization, participants learn about financing renewable energy (RE) projects focusing on wind technology. As part of the mandatory courses, participants will learn about the financial and technological aspects of RE measures and RE project finance, discuss specific applications of wind technology and case studies – including, planning and measurement - and address environmental and social (E&S) standards.
Participants who want to complete the advanced version of this specialization must also take the courses "Climate Finance" and "E-mobility" along with one elective course from three available options.
Additionally, each participant has access to seven other optional courses, including, "Photovoltaics", "Biogas" or " Digitalisation and smart technologies for the power sector".

GGF Green Finance Expert – Greening of financial institutions and overview of Energy Efficiency, Resource Efficiency, Renewable Energy
This specialization covers introductory courses into Energy Efficiency (EE), Renewable Energy (RE), and Resource Efficiency (REff), and focuses on greening financial institutions, allowing participants to gain a broad understanding of green finance topics, and equipping them with necessary skills to help drive green transformation at their institutions. Participants will also study environmental and social (E&S) standards, E-mobility, and Climate Finance among other courses.
Participants who want to complete the advanced version of this specialization must take the courses "Renewable Energy Project Finance" and "Project Contracts".
Additionally, each participant has access to eleven other optional courses, including, "Photovoltaics", "Debt financing process and credit risk management" or "E-mobility".
