EU Cooperation with the International Solar Alliance
Training program for trainers on the topics of Mini-grids and Storage
The Renewable Academy, in cooperation with the EU and the International Solar Alliance, is offering scholarships for a training program for trainers on the topics of Mini-grids and Storage for the member countries of the International Solar Alliance (see here which countries are members of the ISA). The training will take place from July 24 to August 25.
The program consists of two phases. In the first phase, an online course is offered in which the characteristics of PV-diesel hybrid systems and the possibilities of integrating PV systems into an existing diesel power system of PV-diesel hybrid systems are given. Special focus will be put on the functioning of system components, operational strategies, and optimization of hybrid systems. This phase begins on July 24 and ends on August 18. This course will be asynchronous, i.e., each participant completes the course at his/her own pace. Participants will need to complete self-assessment questions at the end of each module. It is estimated to take a total of 50 hours to complete.
Those who successfully complete the online phase will be entitled to participate in a 4-hour interactive webinar, which will cover mini-grid regulatory frameworks and financing in depth. This includes project evaluation, risks, models, and mechanisms. Those who complete this Webinar will receive a certificate of completion.
Courses and webinars will be offered in English and Spanish for three regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
It is a requirement to be accepted to the training program for applicants to have experience as a trainer in universities, educational agencies, or private companies, and to be currently working in the training field or willing to do so.
WHO CAN APPLY?
