What is the project about?

This programme equips female professionals in Egypt with Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and economics backgrounds to become qualified consultants supporting the decarbonisation of local industries. 

Organised by Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG, the programme provides 

  • hands-on training, 
  • international exposure, and 
  • mentoring 

to prepare female participants for applicable consulting work for green transition solutions.


Objective

This project aims to contribute to the decarbonization of Egyptian industries by qualifying women to become consultants for a green economic transition in Egypt. By equipping women with the necessary technical expertise, business acumen, and market insights they will be enabled to actively contribute to a greener transition of the industrial sector in Egypt.

  • Relevant educational background
  • Strong interest in the green transformation field
  • Full commitment to the programme

Programme phases

1. Selection of Candidates

Transparent selection of candidates through online applications and interviews.

 

 

 

2. Online Introductory Training

Self-paced courses (30–75 hours) covering green fundamentals to establish a shared knowledge base.

 

 

3. Technical & Business Training

Blended virtual and in-person training.

  • Financing of energy efficiency projects
  • Energy efficiency
  • Carbon pricing mechanisms

4. Investment Plan Training Module – exclusive for advanced level participants

Specialized training in designing financially viable proposals for private-sector clients.

 

 

5. Mentorship & Hands-On Practice

Mixed teams of consultants, mentored by experts, partner with Egyptian companies to:

  • Assess current practices
  • Propose tailored decarbonization plans
  • Present proposals for stakeholder feedback

 

6. Networking Forum

One-day event in Cairo to showcase proposals, network with industry and academia, and celebrate top contributors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Study Tour to Germany

10 participants and 4 representatives from the academic sector join a one-week tour for site visits and international networking.
