What is capreg about?

CapREG “Capacity Development on Renewable Energy and Grid Integration” is a capacity building programme financed by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) within the German International Climate Initiative (IKI).
From 2014 to 2016, the Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG provided scholarships for several trainings on renewable energy and grid integration for professionals from Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. Recognising the high demand for further CapREG trainings, the BMUB agreed to extend the funding for the CapREG programme until the end of 2018 including further face-to-face trainings in Berlin as well as a six-month's internet-based training programme.
CapREG is a scholarship programme. Thus, seminar fees upto 100% as well as part of the travel costs for the Berlin seminars are covered by the programme. Interested candidates are kindly invited to apply online for a scholarship. For information on seminar dates, contents of the different training activities, requirements and deadlines for application see below.
What does the CapREG offer?

Within CapREG, the Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG offers different kinds of trainings, networking and exchange of experiences for professionals from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Peru and Ecuador.
From 2018 onwards, the following training activities will be offered:

Who can apply?
Eligible for a scholarship to participate in one of the CapREG trainings are professionals from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, Mexico, Peru and Ecuador working in the following institutions and organisations in the public and private sector:
- Ministries related to climate protection/policy and/or with responsibility for energy policy
- Subordinate authorities and regulators, regional or local administration
- University professors and lecturers
- Energy service companies, transmission and distribution grid operators
- Industry, trade associations and law firms
- NGOs and the media
How to apply for a scholarship?
Interested candidates are kindly invited to apply online for a scholarship to participate in one or more of the different CapREG trainings before the respective deadline for application.
Please note that limited number of scholarships are available for each training activity. RENAC will evaluate the applications of the candidates and select the participants. The evaluation is based on information provided in the application form.
