Training Climate and Energy Transformation Experts for Tomorrow
Informed specialists play a crucial role in tackling global climate issues and shaping tomorrow’s energy systems. To foster international expertise on how to domestically tackle the energy transformation, Renewables Academy (RENAC) in cooperation with the Agora Energiewende has developed a training programme: EnerTracks.
EnerTracks encourages independent thought and supports institutions working in the field of energy transformation worldwide. This training programme provides significant insights into the many facets of promoting the energy transformation: participants learn directly from German Energiewende experts, join excursions and discussions with key German energy stakeholders, and receive tailored online courses to enhance their climate and energy transformation expertise for tomorrow.
EnerTracks is made up of the following three training paths, which can be combined or taken individually:
1. The Fellowship Programme
A small group of four to six Fellows are selected to come to the Agora Energiewende office in Berlin. Over the course of six to eight weeks, the fellows have the opportunity to learn directly from Agora Energiewende experts on why, how and when an independent organisation can shape the energy transformation narrative.
Who can apply?
Nationals from eligible countries working in the power sector for non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations, civil society organisations or in academia.
Registration for the fellowship programme is now closed.
2. Study tours and executive leadership trainings
The virtual EnerTracks Study Tour was designed with the help of cutting edge online facilitation tools and is based on a practice-orientated approach to enhance and strengthen the ability of participants to engage in thoughtful dialogue with energy policy stakeholders in their home country.
A competitively selected group of 12-18 individuals is invited to participate virtually in a series of tailored workshops, leadership training, and group work to develop a decarbonisation roadmap. Over three weeks, this virtual training will take you through a journey which is designed to be interactive, engaging, as well as playful.
Who can apply?
Individuals with nationalities from eligible countries (list of eligible countries) currently employed and working in the power sector for think tanks, non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations, civil society organisations or in academia.
Virtual Study Group 4: October 12 - 30, 2020
Virtual Study Group 5: TBD (mid November)

3. Online training for self-study
The online learning modules developed by the Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) offer participants the opportunity to uncover important topics about energy transformation at their own pace. These courses are designed for all levels, providing introductory to more advanced courses around the political, economic, and technical aspects related to the transformation of energy systems.
Who can apply?
Nationals from eligible countries working in the energy sector and willing to work on decarbonisation and increased flexibility of the power system. We are looking for dynamic, committed and motivated personalities with a high degree of multiplier effect and personal influence as well as a sincere interest in tackling climate change issues and the energy transformation in their home country.
Registration for the online training is now closed.
